Group Stray Kids made a comeback in 8 months after releasing their 3rd regular album 'Five Star' (★★★★★ (5-STAR)) on the 2nd.
'Five Star' is an album containing Stray Kids' unique musical personality. The five-pointed stars intuitively show Stray Kids' confidence and specialness. This is the first full-length album released in about two years since the second regular album 'NOEASY' released in 2021. The title song 'Special' is a unique and pleasant expression of Stray Kids, who are the most eccentric among the unusual kids and the brightest among the special kids. This time, Stray Kids' producing team, 3Racha, Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han wrote and composed the song, making the group's color clear. 'Special', which was already unusual from the time the lyrics such as 'star of star of star' and 'flashing color' were repeated in the previously released teaser. The lyrics express the confidence and self-esteem of Stray Kids, who have achieved cascading growth, in various ways. It introduces special Stray Kids through lyrics such as 'That's me, the eccentric guy of the stars' and 'Comprehensive and unrivaled', while 'Everyday's flashy class is special', ' You can see the soaring self-esteem in 'Introduction to us, who is a person with a light to shine'.
Not only the lyrics containing self-objectification filled with self-esteem, but also the dynamic composition are impressive. The various melodic composition conveys freshness as if several songs were put together, and the hook with an addictive rhythm evokes the desire to play repeatedly.
Music videos are not enough to be introduced as music to watch. It's like watching a blockbuster. In the music video, which starts with the night view of Seoul in the background of the first lyrics, the researcher and chef of 'New Menu' (God's Menu), the Namsadangpae of 'Sorikkun' and the goblin fire appear in detail, stimulating the interest of the viewers.
On the other hand, the confidence that puts the five stars, the highest expression, on the front of the new album can be confirmed in the b-side songs. This is because a total of 12 songs, including the title song 'Special', are all Stray Kids' self-composed songs. On top of that, the songwriting and featuring of Tiger JK's 'TOPLINE', which is called a hip-hop legend, instilled another confidence in Stray Kids. Various genres such as dance, hip-hop, and pop, and credits embroidered by leading lyricists prove that 'Five Star' is a well-made album.
Prior to their comeback, Stray Kids confidently called "Five Star" a "five-star album" through their agency JYP Entertainment, saying, "PD Park Jin-young listened to the song and gave rave reviews." Attention is focusing on how far Stray Kids, who have returned with strong confidence, can grow through 'Five Star'.
